MINNEAPOLIS (6/29/2017) – A year after winning the prestigious award for the first time in the company’s history, another Cushman & Wakefield-managed property has been named the best of its kind in the world.

Centennial Lakes Office Park, a five-building, 850,000 square foot (sf) office park in Edina, Minnesota, has been named the winner of The Outstanding Building of the Year (TOBY) award by the Building Owners and Managers Association, international chapter.

“It’s an incredible honor for a Cushman & Wakefield-managed property to receive this recognition from our peers,” said Lisa Dongoske, Executive Vice President-Asset & Occupier Services. “This win is the result of an incredible amount of hard work by the Centennial Lakes team, and we couldn’t be more proud of them all.”

Centennial Lakes, which Cushman & Wakefield has managed since its construction in the late 1990s, took home the TOBY Award for top Suburban Office Park, besting other properties in the same asset class from all over the United States. The Cushman & Wakefield team assigned to Centennial Lakes Office Park includes General Manager Ellen Morton, Senior Property Manager Katie Trevena, Chief Engineer Justin Webber and the leasing team of Bob Revoir and Dan Wicker.

Centennial Lakes Office Park was developed by United Properties and is currently owned by State Farm Realty Company and United Properties Investment LLC.

Another of the Cushman & Wakefield’s managed properties in MInneapolis, RBC Plaza, was also featured as a finalist in the category for Top Renovated Property.

The awards were announced June 27 at the BOMA International conference in Nashville, Tennessee.

Cushman & Wakefield’s Minneapolis-St. Paul office won two International TOBY awards in 2016. TRIA Orthopaedic Center in Bloomington was named top Medical Office Building at that ceremony, while Ford Center in downtown Minneapolis won the award for Best Historic Building.

The TOBY Awards are the commercial real estate industry’s highest recognition honoring excellence in commercial building management and operations in specific categories of building size or type. To win an International TOBY Award, a property first must win both local and regional competitions. Judging is based on community impact, tenant/employee relations programs, energy management systems, accessibility, emergency evacuation procedures, building personnel training programs and overall quality indicators. A team of expert industry professionals also conducted comprehensive building inspections.
