MINNEAPOLIS, June 29, 2018 – David Stokes, SIOR and Chris Weirens of Cushman & Wakefield represented Canteen, a food service company, in a new lease for 134,000 square feet (sf) in the Mid-City Minneapolis area.
Stokes and Weirens worked with building owner Interstate Development to negotiate a lease for the space, at 700 24th Ave. SE in Minneapolis. The building is located just north of the University of Minnesota and between Highway 280 and Interstate 35W, two key transportation corridors for the Twin Cities.
“Our client required easy vehicle access and a warehousing system that would allow drivers to be efficient in loading custom products for each delivery, and this property proved ideal for their needs,” said Stokes.
Interstate Development will demolish part of the property and reposition the remainder to meet Canteen’s unique needs. Significant landscaping and parking improvements will also be made to the property.
Canteen, a division of Compass Group, is the industry leader in vending, micro-market, office coffee, and refreshments services.
“We’ve enjoyed record growth and customer retention across our Twin Cities business. Our new location is a significant investment in our employees and customers alike,” said Sam Steffen, District General Manager of Canteen.
The company will move into its new space in October.
